Newborn Shoot with Keenan

Look at the little cutie I had the pleasure of shooting.  Keenan is 14 days old and surely has a modeling career ahead of him as well as his big sister Ava.  She was so proud of her new baby brother and was simply adorable while we were shooting.  She even brought us candy from her secret stash to keep our energy levels up.   Mom Maggie enjoys crocheting and was so creative planning our photo shoot.  I just love the owl and the owl hat.  She takes request.  Look for a blog from Maggie soon!

Morning Garden

This morning I took a few minutes in the garden.  I love my knockout roses.
They are in their forth year and are really coming on.  I was working on shooting in manual/close-ups.  These are a few of my favorites edited in Light Room.  Actually very few adjustments.  The colors are just beautiful.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Ludington 2011

Ludington with the girls is a summer ritual.  I always look forward to our yearly trip where "what happens in Ludington, stays in Ludington"

A New Spring

With the coming of spring I was thinking of the upcoming birth of newest edition of MSU Pastured Pigs.  These are a few of last years crop.
This is Easter.  He is such a ham (no pun intended).  Named for the day he was born.

Beautiful Black and White entry

Here is my entry for iheartfaces Beautiful Black and White photo challenge.

A warm day with Mya

Today my youngest daughter Mya came home from school asking me to take some spring pics of her since it was such a nice pre-spring day. It was over 50 today which is warm for this time of year.  The challenge of the day was the lack of green grass and the over abundance of grey and brown.  But outside we ventured.

In the black and whites I am just playing with this function in PS for the iheartfaces beautiful black and white photo challenge.

So I last introduced you to Gretchen, my daughters newly adopted cat.  You see my daughter will start vet school this fall so I am obviously proud of her.  As such, I will be sharing excerpts of her adventures with her pets and projects.  Speaking of projects...  While at college she has been part of a research project for pastured pigs at the organic farm. This cute little piggy is one of the piglets they had in the Spring of 2011.  They will again have new arrivals this spring.  If interested you can follow them on face book at
